Wings of Support have announced impressive figures in their 2017 annual report. The organisation’s volunteers provided support for 24,866 children in 16 countries in the past year. They did so by way of 86 projects offering education, shelter and medical aid. Donators and sponsors boosted contributions to a record EUR 700,000.
There are close ties between Wings of Support (WoS) and KLM. The organisation was founded by KLM staff in 1998 and the majority of volunteers work for KLM. In addition, KLM is an official partner of WoS for the coming three years, providing financial support, sharing knowledge and helping to bring the organisation’s activities to the attention of the public.
Wings of Support aims to assist children in countries served by KLM, providing them with education, shelter and medical aid. The WoS Annual Report (only in Dutch) for 2017 confirms that the organisation achieved these objectives with great success last year. Apart from the figures already mentioned, the report gives information about various WoS projects, which range from after-school programmes and to the acquisition of vehicles.
