It’s big and it’s blue
We’re proud of the latest addition to the KLM fleet! This more sustainable and energy-efficient aircraft is called ‘Orange Blossom’ and carries the special KLM100 logo. KLM celebrates it’s 100th anniversary, on 7 October.
If you’re on your way to Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salaam, Dubai, Delhi or Curacao in the coming months, there’s a good chance you’ll find yourself aboard this brand-new aircraft. Our first Boeing 787-10 plays a superb starring role in this “movie trailer”.
Lower CO2 emissions and noise levels
With the arrival of the new Dreamliner, KLM has taken another major step towards an even more sustainable fleet. As is the case with the B787-9, the Boeing 787-10 is powered by more efficient engines than comparable aircraft. In addition to lightweight construction materials and KLM’s weight-saving measures, the new Dreamliner burns less fuel, emitting less CO2 and making less noise. Compared to the Boeing 747-400, which will be replaced by the Dreamliner, the reduction in CO2 emissions is up to 31% per seat.
Innovative & sustainable
KLM will continue to focus on innovation and our efforts to ensure a sustainable future, because we intend to keep setting new standards for tomorrow’s aviation industry in the coming century.
